George M. Wince, 78, died on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at 3 a.m. at his residence in Ada.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1936, in McClain County, Illinois, to Homer and Rose (Lorch) Wince who preceded him in death. On June 2, 1973, he married Carol Jean Fleming and she survives in Ada.
George had been a lifelong farmer, he also did backhoe work for many years. He and his brother, Glenn were the first farmers in the area to have an egg-layer business. He had also worked part time for the Village of Ada and later for Liberty Township.
He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Ada and the Hardin County Farm Bureau. He had been a chaperone for the Ada High School choir and band while his children were in school. He was a 1954 graduate of LaFayette-Jackson High School.
Survivors also include a son, James (Anne) Wince of Ada and a daughter, Rachael (Dwight) Underwood of Kenton; four grandchildren: Alyssa, Kayla, Addison Wince and Carson Underwood. He is also survived by brothers: Leslie Wince of Lima, Charles (Fran) Wince of Ada and a sister-in-law, Maxine Wince of Harrod and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Frank, Dale, Glenn and Robert Wince; sisters: Ruth Riley, Cynthia Thompson, Rosemary Wince and a niece, Jennifer Schwartz.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Mary Jo Yeakel and Pastor Kevin Mohr officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
