Blue moon, Blue-Super Moon over Ada

Ada photographer Ken Collin is again looking up. In this photo, he's captured the August 30 "Blue Moon." That's the name for when a second full moon appears in a single month. This is also a Super Moon--it is closer to Earth and looks larger than usual. The next Super Blue Moon won't appear until 2037.

Bulldog boys soccer blanked by MC

The Ada High School boys soccer team lost 5-0 at Miller City Wednesday evening, August 30.

The Bulldog boys fell to 2-3-1 overall with the loss.

Freshman Jacob Rush made five saves in goal for Ada.

Bulldog football travels far to face new foe in week 3

The Ada High School football team plays a completely new foe in unbeaten Buckeye Central at New Washington in Crawford County this Friday, September 1, in week three.

The road trip is an approximate 65-mile one-way jaunt.  

Governor announces Ohio School Bus Safety Working Group

On August 30, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced 13 individuals who will serve on his newly formed Ohio School Bus Safety Working Group. 

Governor DeWine announced the creation of the working group last week following the death of 11-year-old Aiden Clark, a Northwestern Local School District student who was killed when another vehicle collided with his school bus in Clark County.

Obituary for Rogeta L. Fruchey

Rogeta L. “Geta” Fruchey, age 64, of Ada, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 4:50 p.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

Geta was born on May 10, 1959, in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Roger and Wilva (Stuckey) Bair.  On July 23, 2015, Geta married Joe Fruchey and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2022. 

Ohio's third annual Overdose Awareness Day, August 31

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine will observe Ohio’s third annual Overdose Awareness Day on Thursday, Aug. 31. Established in 2021 by Senate Bill 30, Ohio Overdose Awareness Day aims to raise public awareness and remember the lives lost to the ongoing national opioid epidemic. It also helps usher in September as Recovery Month.
