Cancelled due to the impact of COVID-19 restrictions

FROM BLUFFTON ICON - The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce announced the canceling of its 2020 arts and crafts show, according to Paula Scott, chamber CEO. Details are in the letter to chamber members below:

Dear BACC members,
We regret to announce that the May 9, 2020, Bluffton Arts & Crafts Festival has been cancelled due to the impact of COVID-19 restrictions.

We look forward to hosting the event in 2021 and want to stay in touch with vendors.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has urged Ohioans to begin wearing cloth masks while in public, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The CDC issued the recommendation that citizens wear face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

"In many cultures around the world, wearing a mask is just part of the culture - it is a socially accepted act of kindness," said Governor DeWine. "Wearing a mask should not scare people.  It is a good thing.  It is a considerate thing.  It is a courageous thing."

Preparations underway for a business relaunch

Ada residents Nick and Amber Simon are the new owners for the former Railhouse Gym located on Buckeye Avenue, Ada.

The couple plans to reopen the gym as soon as Gov. DeWine lifts his orders that closed Ohio’s non-essential businesses in response to the coronavirus.

Under the new name “One More,” the new owners are taking this opportunity to make several changes to prepare for the business relaunch.

A new entrance and address for the gym will be 125 E. Buckeye. The 24/7 Laundromat at 125 E. Buckeye has been closed.
