Community feedback to HomeTown Competitiveness Program appreciated

Last week, the Village Voice was an invitation to join Village officials and representatives from Ohio Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP) for a public meeting regarding a USDA community initiative grant.

The Village wishes to thank those who came out to the Community Health Professionals building on Monday evening to hear about the HomeTown Competitiveness Program through the USDA.

More information regarding the program will be forthcoming, but community interest has been the cornerstone of this particular grant program. Having members of the community take time to express interest, ask questions, and offer feedback is greatly appreciated!

The week in weather

According to Guy Verhoff, local weather observer, this past week has been fairly typical of late August weather.  The saving grace of these steamy days is that we do know fall is right around the corner.

The temperatures from Monday, Aug. 19 through Monday, Aug. 26 saw highs in the low to mid-80's with overnight lows ranging from the mid-50's to mid-60's.  Most would agree, not too bad at all.

We did get some precipitation, with most all (over a quarter of an inch) falling on the afternoon of Thursday, August 22.
