"Rio Bravo" shown Wednesday afternoon at ReStore

Do you like a good Western movie?

If so, you are in luck. ReStore's Wednesday Afternoon at the Movies this week features "Rio Bravo."

The movie will be shown at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 4. It is free and open to the public.

Rio Bravo is a 1959 American Western film produced and directed by Howard Hawks and starring John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson, Angie Dickinson, Walter Brennan, and Ward Bond.

Observations, insights and sighting: Drones over Ada?

No Drones...Yet

Drones have been in the news the past couple of years. They have the potential to be used in delivery, farming, or just for fun. So, I asked the county extension office if they knew of a farmer near Ada who was using drones.  Nope, not yet was the reply; however, the FAA has come up with some guidelines that may encourage the use of drones in farming, they said.

Congrats are in order for these Ada students

Congrats are in order for several Ada students for several recent achievements. Here's the list:

CONGRATULATIONS: To the 12 Ada students that had work selected for the Kewpee Art Show which opened on Friday. Special congrats to the award winners: Jake 1st place in Sculpture, Allison 1st place in Drawing, Liz 2nd place Print-Making, Alexandra 3rd place in Painting and special honors to Shelbey who won Best of Show. Their work was chosen out of over 400 works of Art from 21 High Schools.

Congratulations: To the High School Winter Guard on qualifying for finals at the Winter Guard International Regional in Pittsburgh this Saturday.
