Amy Eddings Feb. 3 L.E.A.D. speaker in Kenton

Women L.E.A.D. presents "The Power of Risk Taking for Women Leaders." The speadker is Ada resident, Amy Eddings, former New York City public radio host of NPR's "All Things Considered" now owner of the Easter House Bed and Breakfast in Ada.

The program is from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Stephen McCullough Conference Room.

Eddings recently traded a career in radio in New York City to be closer to family in rural Ohio. While she is experiencing life from a different angle, she has undertaken the challenge of changing careers midlife, taking news risks and embracing change.

Powerball tickets hot items in cold January

Kenton Amateur Radio Club meets Jan. 25

The Kenton Amateur Radio Club will meet on Monday Jan. 25, at Henry’s Restaurant, 995 N. Detroit St., at the north edge of Kenton. Meal will be at 6 p.m. with the meeting to begin at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in amateur radio is welcome to attend.

Jerry Crisenbery served in the Air Force in Germany

Jerry W. Crisenbery, age 76, died on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at 2:19 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, Ohio.

He was born on Jan.18, 1939, in Van Wert County, Ohio to Lowell B. and Marjorie (Fronefield) Crisenbery who preceded him in death. He married Cheryl Combs and she survives in Ada, Ohio.

Jerry was a retired electrician having worked for Carey Electric and Tradesman International. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany.

Hardin Economic Development Committee meets at Ridgemont on Jan. 22

Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance Economic Development Committee and for those members who would like to participate on the committee will hold its first meeting of 2016 from 8 to 9:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at the new Ridgemont School in Mt. Victory.

Elita Smith on ONU dean's list

Elita Smith, daughter of Jeffrey and Melinda Smith, 517 Clint Dr, Ada, has been named to the Ohio Northern University deans’ list for the fall semester 2015-16.  She is a senior majoring in management..

The deans’ list includes students who attain a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 grading system.
