Easter baskets and candy will be here soon. The top three best selling Easter candies are Reese’s Milk Chocolate and Peanut Butter Egg, Kinder Joy Egg, and jelly beans. Besides the sugar and calorie content of these treats, what other dangers can lurk?
A bag of jelly beans is a wonderful array of colors, but the black jelly beans are often ignored. Why?
According to a recently released poll of the most disliked foods by Americans, black licorice is ranked number 2 with 45% indicating a dislike for the candy. This is followed by the number one disliked food of anchovies at 50%. Oysters, beets and blue cheese rounded out the top 5.
This may help to explain why black jelly beans containing licorice are left for last! However, some individuals prefer the black jelly beans and you can buy whole bags of just that color.
ADA__The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team raced out to an early 10-0 lead and hung on for a 16-13 non-conference victory over Albion (Mich.) on a wet and windy Tuesday evening, March 26.
McGUFFEY__The Ada track and field teams competed in a triangular meet with Upper Scioto Valley and Indian Lake to start off their season at USV on Monday, March 26. Indian Lake won both the boys and girls triangular meet, with Ada second in each and host USV a distant third.
On March 24, 2024, the Ada Barnyard Farmers had a meeting for Quality Assurance at 3 pm. We first talked about making an appointment for blood work for anyone who was going to show chickens this year.
After that, we had Bella Wagner do a health report about the importance of wearing Solar Eclipse glasses to protect your eyes from the sun.
We then had 3 demonstrations, Bella Wagner doing a demonstration about how to make stress balls with balloons. We then also had Waylon Clemons showing the group how to tie a tie and Amelia Clemons showed us how to grow celery.
