Opening night is Thursday at The Freed Center

Twenty-three children from kindergarten to eighth grade from Ada and four nearby towns will perform in the annual Holiday Spectacular, which opens Thursday.

The Ohio Northern men's basketball team opened its 108th season of varsity basketball on Monday with a 99-61 victory over against area-rival Defiance at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears (1-0 overall) got 20 points and nine rebounds from senior Ryan Bruns to lead five players in double figures in scoring. Freshman Daniel Unruh (Elida) scored 14 points, senior Daniel Donner and junior Austin Allemeier (Elida) added 11 points each.

The Yellow Jackets fall to 0-2 and were led by Malachi McClain with 16 points off the bench.

For overall excellence in Patient Perspective

Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton, was recognized today by The Chartis Center for Rural Health (Chartis) and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) for overall excellence in Patient Perspective.  

This reflects top quartile performance among all rural hospitals in the nation. Hardin Memorial Hospital is among 18 Ohio rural providers recognized for overall excellence in 2018.

“We are delighted to see Ohio’s rural providers recognized for their continued commitment to performance excellence,” said Clint Koenig, MD, MA, MSPH, medical director for ODH.

Northwest Ohio Obstetrics and Gynecology now offers two aesthetic procedures not previously available in Bluffton, according to Dr. Desrene K.Brown, M.D.

NW OH OBGYN now offers:
• truSculpt 3D, a body sculpting procedure, and
• Juliet, a laser treatment to combat vaginal issues

“We are very excited to offer these two new features to our clinic,” said Dr. Brown. “ Our patients have expressed appreciation about them.”

The auction is on site at 7900 Tom Fett Road, Bluffton, with a 10 a.m. start for four parcels of real estate and an 11 a.m. start for personal property items.

Two open houses are planned. One is from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 18, and a second is from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25.
