The Ohio Northern women's basketball program came back from a 12-point halftime deficit, outscoring the visiting Wilmington Quakers 45-25 in the second half to knock off their OAC visitors 75-67 on Wednesday in Ada.
The Polar Bears move to 6-1 overall and 1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference this season. Meanwhile, the Quakers drop to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in league play.

The ONU Astronomy Club hosts a "Comet Wirtanen" event from 8 to 10 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, in the ONU Observatory, according to Dr. Jason Pinkney, manager of the observatory.
"We have been clouded out on previous events, but the current forecast for Friday suggests less than 40% cloud cover – we may be able to get a glimpse of the brightest comet of 2018," he said.
The comet is making a great appearance because it will be passing so close to the Earth (12 million km, or about 1/13 of the distance to the Sun).

Ada Presbyterians served soup for a good cause at their fellowship hall on Tuesday evening.
Proceeds from the dinner and auction will support local members going to one of the church’s missions. Although the exact mission has not been decided yet, the local congregation has, in the past, provided funds for local members to assist with missions as far away as Romania and Texas.
The supper of eight homemade soups draws a large crowd each year from not only members of the church but also from the Ada community. The suppers have been held prior to Christmas for more than 20 years.
GROB's program prepared students for technician-level careers in robotics, computerized numerical controlled (CNC) machines, computer aided drafting and design (CAD) and the total flexible manufacturing network.
GROB Systems, 1070 Navajo Drive, Bluffton, holds its next apprenticeship open house at 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8. GROB apprenticeships provide students opportunities to be paid while they learn.
Apprentices are enrolled at Rhodes State College in Lima. At Rhodes, they earn a company-paid associate’s degree while working and earning an income.
