The new relationship extends to medical professionals at the Bluffton Hospital

FROM BLUFFTON ICON - Blanchard Valley Health System has announced that it is the first Ohio-based health care facility to join a clinic collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Care Network, of Rochester, Minnesota.

The Mayo relationship extends to medical professionals at the  Bluffton Hospital.

In making the announcement on Oct. 10, Scott Malaney, BVHS president and CEO, said, “This is a big day for us.”

VAN WERT - The Ada boys cross country team finished seventh in the seven-team Northwest Conference championship meet at the Van Wert Reservoir Saturday morning.

Columbus Grove repeated as boys team champion with just 23 points. Lincolnview was second (45), followed by Crestview (86), Bluffton (105), Allen East (133), Paulding (143) and Ada (211).

Bulldog sophomore Riley Ferguson came in 67th in the field of 95 runners to register the top Ada showing. He covered the 3.1-mile course in a time of 22:13.8.

Senior teammate Hunter Wells ended up right behind him at 68th in 22:14.3.

"We were dealing with a lot of guys banged up (coming in), and then we got more guys injured," said head coach Shawn Christopher. "I was proud of the young guys who came in and played well, and hard."

ADA - The host Ada football team lost decisively to Columbus Grove 65-14 in a wet Northwest Conference contest last Friday night to spoil an intermittently rainy Homecoming.

The purple and gold fell to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in NWC play with the defeat. Surging Grove improved to 4-3 and 3-1 in league action with their third straight win.

There are moments when the best photographs are of people taking photographs. Homecoming is great example. While the 2019 Ada High School homecoming court introductions took place Friday evening, the Icon photographer focused on the crowd and shares this photos of photographers in action.

Jackie L. “Jack” Jordan, 69, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 at 3:15 a.m. at his residence outside of Alger.

He was born on Feb. 14, 1950, in Kenton to Richard “Dick” and Margery (Canaan) Jordan.  His father is deceased and his mother survives in Ada.. On May 10, 1991 Jack married Deanna Fry and she survives in Alger

Jack was a 1968 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1969 and served on the USS Suffolk County during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1975.
