Bell ringers need: No experience necessary, except for a desire to ring a bell and help change a life.

The Hardn County Salvation Army Unit invites Ada area residents to volunteer as a holiday bell ringer in November and December in Ada, according to Kathy Reese chairperson.

“Ada bell ringers are needed from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on five dates this season," said Reese.

It's more than just a decorated Christmas tree. It is a tree loaded – and inviting you to participate – with new hats, gloves and scarfs. It's Liberty National Bank's Project Warmth. Now through the end of November the bank collects these items for local children to stay warm during the winter months. This annual project celebrates its 29th season this year. The tree is located in the Ada bank lobby, ready to accept your donation.

Junior All-American Christiaan Williams - and ONU stops Heidelberg

Junior All-American Christiaan Williams (Sidney/Anna) became ONU's all-time career rushing leader as the Ohio Northern football team celebrated Senior Day with a 34-28 Bendekovic Bowl victory over Heidelberg on a chilly Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

Williams has gained 4,197 yards in just 29 career games and passed the previous record of 4,169 by All-American and former NFL standout Jamal Robertson from 1997-2000.

The Polar Bears (6-4 overall) finished tied for third in the 10-team Ohio Athletic Conference with a 6-3 league mark with the win.
