Ada High School will honor its graduates of the Class of 2012 on Sunday, May 27, at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. At the Senior Honor Awards ceremony on May 16, it was announced that Christopher Beaschler, Mackenzie Fell and Matthew Gray have earned the honor of Co-Valedictorians, while Lindsay Simmons was named Salutatorian.
Christopher C. Beaschler is the son of Ron and Christy Beaschler of Ada. He will be attending the University of Dayton where he will be majoring in engineering. As a student at Ada High School, Christopher has been an active member of student council, National Honor Society, FFA, Language Club and Sophomore Youth Leadership.
He has participated in football, baseball, swimming and track. In his football career he was named 1st team in the NWC. Christopher is an active member of the First United Methodist Church. Christopher is receiving the Tuition Merit Scholarship, Ada Academic Boosters Scholarship, Ada Employees’ Scholarship, Robert T. Sperling Memorial Scholarship, Ada Alumni Association Scholarship, Honors Diploma and Award of Merit.
Mackenzie Rae Fell is the daughter of Micah and Lisa Fell of Ada. She plans to attend the University of Dayton to major in Communications and Broadcast Journalism. While attending Ada High School, Mackenzie has participated in student council, serving as secretary her senior year, Language Club, serving as treasurer her sophomore and senior year, National Honor Society, serving as vice president her senior year, and was her class president both her junior and senior year.
She has participated in volleyball and basketball all through high school, leading as team captain for both her senior year. She also ran track, winning MVP and competing in regionals her junior year. Mackenzie participated in Sophomore Youth Leadership, Student Aspiration Team, Drug Awareness Club, Choir, and Secret Admirers.
Mackenzie is receiving a University of Dayton President’s Merit Scholarship, Whirlpool Foundation Sons & Daughters Scholarship, Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Scholarship, Ada Alumni Association Scholarship, Ada Academic Boosters Scholarship, Ada Employees’ Scholarship, Ada Lions Memorial Scholarship, Ada Kiwanis Scholarship, Honors Diploma and Award of Merit.
Matthew Benjamin Gray is the son of Jeff and Beth Gray of Ada. He will be attending Allegheny College and will major in Chemistry. As a student at Ada High School, Matthew has been a member of student council and National Honor Society, serving as president for both, Quiz Bowl, Sophomore Youth Leadership, and Buckeye Boys State.
Matthew has also served as secretary of his class as a junior and vice president of his class as a senior. Matt served as captain for both his baseball and golf teams where he earned 1st team NWC. He has also been involved in the community as an assistant to the director of the Lima Regional Science Olympiad and a tutor for Project More.
He will be receiving a Tuition Exchange Scholarship, Honda-OSU Math Medal Scholarship, Ada Lions Memorial Award, Ada Academic Boosters Scholarship, Ada Alumni Association Scholarship, Ada Employees’ Scholarship, Ty Michael Memorial Scholarship, Honors Diploma and Award of Merit.
Lindsay Simmons is the daughter of Tom and Julie Simmons of Ada. She plans to attend Ohio Northern University where she will major in Business. While attending Ada High School, Lindsay has been involved in student council, National Honor Society, F.F.A., where she served as president, secret admirers, 4-H, and Language Club.
Lindsay as also participated in basketball, volleyball, and softball, in which she earned 1st team NWC. She was also a tutor for Project More and is a member of the Ada First Baptist youth group. Lindsay has been awarded the Jennifer Sue Umphress Memorial Scholarship, Ada Employees' Scholarship, as well as her Honors Diploma and Award of Merit.

Konnor Baker will attend the University of Findlay to major in Education. He is receiving a Tuition Exchange Scholarship, University of Findlay Award, Charles “Bud” Hawkins Memorial Scholarship, and Myra Traxler Memorial Scholarship.
Mitchel Boehm has plans to further his studies in Computer Networking by attending The Ohio State University at Lima. He will receive an AEA Scholarship, Lima Buckeye Distinction Award, Griffith Family Scholarship, Rotary Scholarship and Ronald McVicker Memorial Scholarship.
Sarah Clum will be attending the University of Findlay and will be majoring in Physical Therapy. She has been awarded a University of Findlay Merit Scholarship, Dean’s Scholarship, Tuition Exchange, and Award of Merit.
Todd Andrew Crabtree is going to study at the Bowling Green State University where he has been awarded a Bowling Green State University Heritage Scholarship and University Freshman Academic Scholarship. He is also receiving an Ada Lions Memorial Award and Award of Merit.
Tabitha Jolliff plans to attend the University of Findlay to study Occupational Therapy. She will be receiving an Ada Lions Memorial Award, University of Findlay Dean’s Scholarship, Ada Technologies Scholarship and Award of Merit.
Ashlie Kindle will be attending Ohio Christian University to study Education. She will be receiving an Ohio Christian University Scholarship, along with an Ada Employees’ Scholarship, Ada Technologies Scholarship and Award of Merit.
Rogelio Rojas is going to attend The Ohio State University to major pre-medicine. He is receiving a Rotary Scholarship, AEA Scholarship, Ada Employees’ Scholarship and Award of Merit.
Heather Rowe will major in Advertising Art. She is receiving an AEA Scholarship, Ada Kiwanis Scholarship, and Governor’s Art Show Award.
Cole Simon plans to attend the University of Toledo where he will major in Nursing. He is receiving an Ada Lions Memorial Scholarship, University of Toledo Rocket Scholarship and Award of Merit.
Austin Weber will be attending the University of Akron where he will be majoring in Business and Marketing Management. He was awarded an Ada Lions Memorial Award, Ada Employees’ Scholarship, University of Akron Success Scholarship and Award of Merit.
