Don Castle of Ada was recognized as the American Red Cross Hardin County Volunteer of the Year during the county's April 10 recognition luncheon.
A board member, he is active in helping with special events, garnering financial support from the community whether it be for the annual pancake breakfast or golf outing.
Several other Hardin County individuals and groups were also recognized. The Hardin County Clara Barton Award was presented to Madelyn Lowery of Kenton. Lowery is a long-time board member. She has been the chapter’s liaison with United Way for several years and helps at the Day of Caring Blood Drive with United Way in July.
