Mission festival Oct. 28 at Trinity Lutheran, Jenera

A Mission Festival will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St., Jenera, in both the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday, Oct. 28.

Pastor Dan Myers, a missionary to Cameroon, Africa, will speak on the darkness of not knowing Jesus as the Savior makes the urgency of mission work.  He and his wife Peggy will also speak at the Bible Class at 9:20 a.m.

The students of Kindergarten through eighth grade will sing "Go Into the World."  Everyone is welcome and the church is handicapped accessible.

MS Support Group meeting Oct. 24 in Bluffton

A meeting for those with Multiple Sclerosis, their partners and caregivers will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, at The Centre at  Bluffton, 601 N. Main St. 

Reservations are needed for the dinner and may still be made the day of the program by calling 1-877-219-0410  and giving the program number 2387. The event starts with
registration at 6 p.m

Questcor Pharmaceuticals is the sponsor and provides the speaker. The topic is "Take Control of Your MS Relapses: Know Your Treatment Options."

Red Ribbon Week calls for a drug-free life style

Ada students have an opportunity to show support of a drug-free lifestyle by joining the Ada High School Student Council to celebrate Red Ribbon Week.

2013 Bulldog Cards to go on sale next week

The always-popular sale of the 2013 Bulldog Cards will begin next week by students of the Ada Music Department. This year’s version of the discount card offers free food and other money-saving offers at Ada, Kenton, Bluffton and Lima area restaurants and businesses.

This year’s card includes more offers than ever before, and an attractive new design.

Dave Moser wins football contest week 9; Duane Bollenbacher still in the lead

The winner of Week 9 of The Icon Football Contest is Dave Moser, who correctly picked 14 games this week.

Apollo levy would cost average home owner $2.50 per month

Apollo Career Center provided The Icon with details on its levy on the Nov. 6 ballot. The school is seeking approval of a 1-mill levy to upgrade its aging infrastructure, equipment and classroom space. If approved, it would cost the average homeowner about $2.50 a month or just over $30 a year.
