Steinbrunner, ONU women's cross country coaching staff honored by OAC

Senior Alison Steinbrunner was named OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year and the Ohio Northern women's coaches were named Women's Coaching Satff of the Year in voting done by the league's 10 head coaches.

This is the third straight season that Steinbrunner and the coaching staff have won these awards.

Steinbrunner posted a time of 22:12 at the OAC Championships, which was good for her fourth straight OAC Championship.

She is the only female to accomplish this feat in conference history. In addition, Steinbrunner finished second at the NCAA Championships.

Santa at the library on Monday

The tree is up and the Ada Public Library staff is eagerly awaiting Santa's visit to the Ada Library.

"Join us Monday, Dec., 10th from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. to visit with Santa in the front reading room,"  Amanda Bennett of the library told The Icon.

Santa coming to The Inn at ONU on Dec. 21

Santa will be making a last-minute stop to The Inn at Ohio Northern University.  Join Santa for cookies and complimentary photos from 2 to 4 p.m. on, Friday, Dec. 21.  The event is free; however, reservations are required. To register, please call 419.772.2500.

The Inn at Ohio Northern University is a full-service hotel. The Inn welcomes meetings, groups, and special events. With over 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, groups as large as 100 people can convene a seminar, meeting, wedding or other special event hosted in the boardroom and beautiful garden courtyard, complete with a central fountain and outdoor seating.

Five named to NCAA Division III men's soccer All-Great Lakes Region teams

Five Ohio Northern men's soccer players were named to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer All-Great Lakes Region teams.

Seniors Nate Bascom, Mac Church and Austin Windsor all earned First Team selections, while seniors Cameron Johnson and Chris Matejka were named to the Second Team.

Bascom earns his second straight All-Great Lakes Region selection. He was named as the Capital One Academic All-American of the Year. 

He broke the single season record for points with 54 and assists with 18.

Bascom now concludes his career as ONU's all time points leader with 155 and all-time assists leader with 43.

Tara Tokar and Kristina Klusek named to NCAA Divsion III women's soccer All-Great Lakes Region Team

Senior Tara Tokar and sophomore Kristina Klusek were named to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer All-Great Lakes Region Team.

Tokar was named to the First team, while Klusek was selected to the Second Team.

Tokar earns her third straight selection to the Great Lakes Region First Team. She scored two goals and recorded three assists for the Polar Bears.

Tokar was selected as a Third Team All-American and was named OAC Midfielder of the Year.

Klusek earns her first selection to the All-Great Lakes Region team. 

This season, she led the Polar Bears in goals, assists and points with 14, eight and 36 respectively.
