As Hardin County farmers get ready to plant this year’s corn and soybeans, crop yields from the 2018 growing season have been released from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service.
Although these crop production numbers are based on estimates, they are used for crop insurance and government reporting purposes.

The Hardin Hoppers and The Barnyard Friends 4-H clubs have several new members this year, with a total of seventeen members.
For their community service project, the club will walk around the coon hunters' club pond.
The club will have a nature-themed booth at the county fair, and also be making 4-H t-shirts this year.
Mercy Health — St. Rita’s Medical Center now has New Vision Medical Laboratories on its campus. The New Vision Medical Laboratories are also at Bluffton Family Medicine, UNOH Family Practice, Ada Family Medicine and Glandorf Family Medicine.
The New Vision Medical Laboratories offer new lower competitive pricing, shorter wait times, reliable results and access to results on the Mercy Health MyChart. Lima hours are Mondays through Thursdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The public is invited to a rally to urge release of the full report of the Mueller investigation into the Russian government's efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.
The rally will be at the gazebo in the Lima Town Square at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 4. It is organized by local group Allen and Hardin for Election Action & Democracy (AHEAD) and is part of a National Day of Action in coalition with MoveOn, Public Citizen, and People for the American Way.
