Although it’s waiting Ada council’s okay, the Ada Buy Local Committee hopes to hold a Music on Main event to bring people downtown Ada this summer and to bring attention to buying things locally.
The event is tentatively scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 13, in the depot parking lot. Richard Gainey, station manager of WONB FM, will provide the music; Ada residents will provide their own chairs for the informal fun evening.
The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law will host 25 students from around the nation for the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) DiscoverLaw.org Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program beginning Monday, June 4.
The program is funded through a grant from LSAC. Law schools that qualify for PLUS grants receive as much as $100,000 per year for up to three years. This marks the third year that ONU’s College of Law has been involved in the program.

Ada High School will honor its graduates of the Class of 2012 on Sunday, May 27, at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. At the Senior Honor Awards ceremony on May 16, it was announced that Christopher Beaschler, Mackenzie Fell and Matthew Gray have earned the honor of Co-Valedictorians, while Lindsay Simmons was named Salutatorian.
Christopher C. Beaschler is the son of Ron and Christy Beaschler of Ada. He will be attending the University of Dayton where he will be majoring in engineering. As a student at Ada High School, Christopher has been an active member of student council, National Honor Society, FFA, Language Club and Sophomore Youth Leadership.
