BLUFFTON – The visiting Ada High School baseball team used two big innings and solid defense to knock off local rival Bluffton 9-3 in a non-league game on Tuesday evening, April 1.
Neither team scored in the first three innings of what started out as a pitchers’ duel.
The Bulldogs then scored five runs in the fourth inning, and tallied four more in the fifth to break open the scoreless battle and win.
Ada improved to 1-1 after earning their first victory, while Bluffton dropped to 2-1 with the defeat.
The mayor, all councilors, fiscal officer, police chief and legal advisor were all present for the April 1 regular meeting of the Village of Ada Council, which was dispatched in under an hour. (Agenda)
Three names were listed under the Open Floor segment on the agenda with the expectation that they would comment on a proposed ordinance regarding vendors including food trucks. Discussion indicated that two had spoken to the mayor and councilor Bob Simmons prior to the meeting.
There were no resolutions or ordinances on the agenda.
Senior Aidra Preston had her art juried into the Governor's Youth Art Exhibition. The show opens April 20th at the Rhodes State Office Tower and runs until May 15th.
Aidra's work is a dress made out of soybean bags and bedding bags.
This past weekend Aidra received a scholarship offer from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design based on her dress that is in the show.
In the Village of Harrod, Main St. between 4th and 5th Streets will be closed for bridge replacement starting Monday, April 14 for 8 weeks.
There will be no access during this closure.
