Bluffton Hospital has initiated COVID-19 testing for all patients coming to the hospital for scheduled surgeries and procedures.
This is a change from the previous practice of testing only those exhibiting symptoms of the disease and referred by their primary care physicians.
The hours of operation for pre-surgery and procedure swabbing at Bluffton Hospital follows:
• Mondays through Fridays – 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Weekends – 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Persons need to contact their physician to schedule a pre-surgery or procedure swabbing.

The article title is "What if the Celtics and Lakers had switched conferences in the 1980s." The article's focus is on the notion that Boston would have likely have doubled its titles in the weak West instead of the rugged East of the 1980s.

Beatitudes, 210 N. Main St., will again providing free lunches to Ada area school children starting Tuesday, June 2. Sack lunch's may be picked up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Beatitudes.
Parents and caregivers must call to register youths for the summer lunch program at 419-788-9459 by Thursday, May 28.
Ada residents could take some community involvement cues from Isaac Spar.
Isaac’s interests demonstrate an envious list of achievements and participation in Ada High School and the Ada community organizations.
It’s no wonder he was recently named one of two Kenton Elks Club high school boy teens of the school year.
His focus ranges from school sports, – including swimming, soccer, tennis – quiz bowl, music, ethics bowl, Boy Scouts, as a class officer, 4-H, Makerfest, National Honor Society, T.E.A.M.S, and involvement in a church mission trip.

Dr. Carl W. Hoagstrom, 79, died Monday May 18, 2020 at his home in Bluffton. He was born in Holdrege, Nebraska, on Aug. 24, 1940, to the late Elmer and Leona (Shaffer) Hoagstrom. On June 5, 1965, he married Maureen (Goertzen) Hoagstrom and she survives in Bluffton.
He graduated from Kearney State College summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in physics and biochemistry. He received his master’s degree from Purdue University in biology and his PhD from Arizona State University in zoology. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He was a biology professor at Ohio Northern University from 1975 to 2005 when he retired.
