Ada Lions Club fundraiser taking orders now

Ada Lions mulch sale is happening as we speak.

Chad Hays of the club said, "We are in full swing had have had two great Saturdays so far."

Here's the complete details:
Taking orders now at 419-634-5626 and 419-302-5987.

Proceeds from the sale go to the Lions Club scholarship fund.

Mulch may be picked up on Saturdays after 8 a.m. at Bass Trucking, 0410 State Route 81, Ada. Deliveries are available on Saturdays.

Brown mulch is $30 per Bobcat scoop; black mulch is $35 per Bobcat scoop. Delivery cost is $10 per trip in Ada and $20 per trip in the surrounding area.

Ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery at 2 p.m.

The Ada community will observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, with a 2 p.m., abbreviated ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery, according to Win Hauenstein of the Ada VFW.

This annual observance is co-sponsored by the Foss-Agin-Meyer Post 185 of the American Legion and Ream-McElroy Post 9381 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

This year’s ceremony will be abbreviated from previous years. It will include presenting of the colors and laying of wreaths at the memorial.

In cooperation with Ada schools, the Ada Icon will post each of the Ada High School class of 2020 seniors in the spotlight. Ella Poling is today's senior in the spotlight.

Lt. Governor Husted announced several new sector opening dates in Ohio:

Beginning Tuesday, May 26, miniature golf, batting cages, and bowling alleys may resume operations if they can meet required safety protocols. 

Beginning Tuesday, May 26, skills training for all sports, including contact sports, may resume if required safety protocols can be met. Tournaments, games, and competitions for contact sports are still prohibited. 

Rhodes State College is pleased to announce the 2020 Spring Semester Dean's Lists for full-time, One Night a Week (ONAW) and part-time students. 

FULL-TIME STUDENTS 
To be eligible for this full-time Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and earn a 3.5 grade point average or higher.

Meeting Tuesday night, Ada council voted to move forward with plans to open the Ada pool this season, with a tentative opening date of July 1. The administration is working on plans to meet the mandatory state requirements. The village asks patience as its work through the planning process. Watch for updates on the Icon.
