The Ada boys track and field team narrowly won the five-team Riverdale Invitational in Mt. Blanchard on Tuesday, April 19.
The Ada boys won the team title by a point over host Riverdale, which took first on the girls side. The Lady Bulldogs finished third out of five teams.
Junior Courtney Sumner won the long jump and 200 meter dash to pace the Lady Bulldogs.
Logan Jolliff, Julian Grose and Mathew Frazier won individual events to lead the Ada boys to victory.
The young Ada High School softball squad led almost the entire game, but the visiting Waynesfield-Goshen team plated four runs in their final at bat to rally past the Lady Bulldogs 11-9 on a cold, windy Tuesday evening, April 19.
The Bulldog girls dropped to 2-7 after the difficult non-league defeat. The Lady Tigers improved to 2-3 with the seesaw, come-from-behind victory.
Ada led 6-0 after the first two innings, but W-G methodically chipped away and grabbed a 7-6 edge behind four runs in the fifth frame.

Playing at home, the Ada High School baseball team rode a 10-run fourth inning to run-rule visiting Waynesfield-Goshen 15-0 on a cold and windy Tuesday evening at the War Memorial Park diamond.
Ada improved to 4-5 with the lopsided five-inning win, their second victory in a row. Meanwhile, W-G dropped to 1-5 with the non-league defeat.
Bulldog senior hurler Kadin Phipps struck out six and allowed just three hits over five innings to earn his second win of the season.
A Farmers & Merchants Picnic Fundraiser will be held at Norada Lanes on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
The event will include a No-Tap bowling tournament with basket raffles, gun raffle and 50/50.

Organizers will also hold several raffles that day with proceeds supporting start-up costs for the 109th Annual Farmers and Merchants Picnic, which will take place on Saturday, August 13 at War Memorial Park in Ada.

Ohio Northern University will host a showcase featuring graduating students in creative writing: Elizabeth Dornbusch, Abby Gillam, Magnus Singer, and Laura Youngblood.
The four students will read from their own work, sharing poetry, short fiction, and selections from other genres.
The reading will be preceded by a reception and followed by a Q & A session. The event is free and open to the public.

The Village of Ada will hold a special council meeting to discuss the Grandview Boulevard proposed project.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Community Health Professionals Building, 1200 S. Main Street, Ada.
This meeting will be held to review updated construction plans for the Grandview Boulevard Reconstruction Proposed Project. Plans to be presented are 90% complete and are designed from the scope of work defined from the first public meeting.
