The Icon attend the February 1 Ada Village Council meeting using the remote option offered by the Village of Ada.

Maria Santo, Ada resident and candidate for the position of judge on the Hardin County Common Pleas Court, detailed her qualifications for the position.

OLD BUSINESS

In light of the forecasted snowfall beginning Wednesday, February 2nd, the Village of Ada would like to remind residents of the parking limitations associated with a declared snow emergency. 

As per ordinance 351 of the Ada Codified Ordinance, a snow emergency exists when a uniform accumulation of 4 or more inches of snow has fallen. During the existence of an emergency snow condition, no person shall park a motor vehicle upon the following public streets in the Village, as follows:

NO PARKING shall be permitted on: 

• Gilbert Street from Lima Avenue to North Street;
• Johnson Street from Lima Avenue to North Street;
• Simon Street Lima Avenue to North Street;
• Lincoln Avenue from Corporation line to Corporation line;
• Turner Avenue from Main Street to Grand Avenue;
• Montford Avenue from Main Street to Liberty Street,
• Highland Avenue from Gilbert Street to Simon Street,
• Buckeye Avenue from Johnson Street to Grand Avenue
• and University Avenue from Main Street to Ream Street.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is preparing for a major winter storm and urging Ohioans to avoid unnecessary trips Wednesday through Friday, February 2-4.

In northern Ohio, crews are preparing for significant amounts of snow. Some forecasts are calling for over a foot of snow with blowing and drifting conditions due to high winds.

ODOT Director Jack Marchbanks warns, “Even with our crews out in full force, roads will likely be snow and ice-covered, and it will take much longer to travel. Once the storm moves out, our crews will be able to make progress toward getting traffic moving at regular speed."
