Ezra Moore, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 2:05 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System. 

He was born on November 2, 1933 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Samuel and Rose Ellen Moore. His mother Rose passed away when Ezra was an infant.  He was raised by his father Samuel and his mother, Maudie Chaffins Moore, who preceded him in death. On November 13, 1954 Ezra married Roberta Allen and she passed away on August 16, 2017. 

Ezra retired from Sheller Globe, Lima. He was a member of the McGuffey Freewill Baptist Church.  He enjoyed deer and bear hunting.

Anna Rose Ramsdell, age 100, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Wyngate Senior Center, Lima.

She was born on December 29, 1920 in McGuffey, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Virgie (Grant) Shrider.  Anna married James Ramsdell and he preceded her in death in 1991.

Anna retired after working twenty-three years as a secretary from Ohio Northern University, Ada. She was a member of the Alger First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, John Ramsdell of Lakeview; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

This book has it all--deaths, a coven of evil witches, ghosts, a dreadfully haunted Victorian house, children in peril, and rain storms at night. It's a great book for Halloween.

I'm referring to Chris Bohjalian's 2011 tome The Night Strangers (Crown Publishers ISBN: 978-0-307-39499-6).

I've reviewed Chris Bohjalian before and praised his writing talents. This book continues with more of the same. The volume will keep you on your toes with its shifting points of view and precise portrayal of the characters and their intentions.

All experience levels, from beginner to advanced, are welcome to participate. Boys and girls from surrounding communities are invited to participate.

The Ada Youth Wrestling Club is a member of the Miami Valley Kids Wrestling Association (MVKWA, based in Dayton, Ohio). The MVKWA has more than 70 clubs that participate in local tournaments weekly from December through February.

The Bluffton Bread Company will sell a limited quantity of freshly-baked bread starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 during Country View Barn’s Christmas open house, 8635 Harding Highway.

Does your child lack typical skills for their age? Are they not keeping up with their peers? Gross motor delay is a broad term that describes a child who performs developmental skills later than usual. This could be crawling, standing, walking or even jumping. It could also be poor ball skills, poor running form or clumsy gait.

Every child will learn skills at their own pace and on their own time, but some children have a more difficult time learning new skills and need a little help to progress their development. Below is a list of developmental milestones and the typical age range a child will master them.

The Hardin County Ohio November 2, 2021 General Election ballot for the Village of Ada includes a proposed Ada School District Income Tax renewal. The ballot question asks:

Shall an annual income tax of 3/4% on the school district income of individuals and of estates be imposed by the Ada Exempted Village School District to renew an income tax expiring at the end of 2022, for 5 years, beginning January  1, 2023, for the purpose of current operating expenses of the school district.

Voters are asked to vote for or against the tax, which was established in 1992 and renewed in

Ada fought hard in their Friday, October 22, home game but lost 49-6 to backyard rival Allen East in the Northwest Conference and regular season finale at War Memorial Stadium.

A fired-up Bulldog squad hung close into the second half. 

Trailing 21-6 in the third period, Ada was stopped on fourth and one at their own 41 on a big play. AE scored two plays later and went on to pull away and outscore the purple and gold 28-0 after intermission.

The Bulldogs fell to 1-9 and finished 0-7 in the NWC with the defeat.

AE improved to 7-3 and 5-2 in the NWC with the win, good for third place.

Judy L. Donnal, age 70, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 8:10 p.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on August 18, 1951 in Kettering, Ohio to the late Russell W. and Clara M. (Sortman) Kramer. On October 23, 1982 Judy married Melvin M. Donnal and he survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are her children: Amanda (Ivan) Atole of Kenton, Ryan Donnal of Kenton and Mathew (Michelle) Donnal of Galloway; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and two sisters: Karen Hanley of Florida and Shirley (Keith) Kelley of Tavares, Florida.

She was preceded in death by two infant children: Russell and Sarah; and a brother.
