Rhett Grant, Ada Public Library director, and Natalie Walton, youth services coordinator, sign in people for the summer reading program at the Ada Public Library. Many people were on hand Saturday to register for summer reading and see bagpipers, small animals, emergency equipment, even a steel drum band. Inside the newly renovated and expanded library, the Friends of the Library sold books for a donation as well as t-shirts. The library was the “go to” place to be on Saturday.

The Ada Gators swim team first home meet will be against the Bluffton Sardines on Thursday, June 11. All meets begin at 6 p.m. Here is the season schedule:
It’s been a busy weekend on campus in addition to it being Alumni Weekend. Here are Ken Collins’ photos of The Cadets, a world class drum and bugle corps, whose members are making ONU their home for two weeks while they prepare their formations and music for shows that will be held from Coast to Coast during the rest of summer..
Here are drummers practicing...without their drums. Members of the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps practice on a field next to the Sports Center on Sunday afternoon. The 150 members of the corps arrived in Ada on Friday. At this early-on stage, the drummers are learning their moves on the field. Later, they will take up their drums and add the music to their steps. The corps practice in small groups in the mornings and afternoons, no matter how hot the blazing sun. From 7-9 p.m. at the ONU stadium, the Cadets practice as an entire group.

He already has earned 22 credit hours of college math while attending ONU during his high school years. He is an AHS valedictorian, played soccer, and was a member of the successful quiz bowl team.
Following another successful season under the guidance of Michele Durand, the Ohio Northern women's basketball team will tip off its 2018-19 schedule at the Allegheny (Pa.) Tip-Off Tournament from Nov. 16-17.
The Polar Bears will play two contests during the tournament, with the opponents yet to be determined.
Following the Allegheny (Pa.) Tip-Off Tournament, Northern will open the home portion of its schedule on Nov. 20 as it welcomes area-foe Defiance to the ONU Sports Center before hosting Ohio Wesleyan at home on Nov. 24.
