ONU is hosting 66 middle school girls this week for Camp GEMS to learn about careers in engineering, math, and science through workshops with faculty and ONU students.
Ohio Northern students and athletes will return to campus in August and be greeted with new and improved weight room equipment in the ONU Sports Center.
The free weights, supplied by Legend Fitness Company, are available to students, faculty and staff during normal Sports Center hours.
"We are very excited about the improvements that were made to the weight room this summer," ONU director of athletics Tom Simmons said. "We believe they will better serve the need of the campus community and our student/athletes."

At age twenty-five, I said, “I do” to the vow of “in sickness and in health.” I remember looking at my soon-to-be-husband, Darren, and thinking, “no problem.” He had been a national champion wrestler in college and still was in prime athletic form. When he carried me over the threshold on our honeymoon, I had no idea that in twelve years, I’d be carrying him on my back up the stairs of our home.
(Editor's note: Who will Richanne Mankey be rooting for? She is president of Defiance College. She is an ONU graduate, former ONU vice president, an ONU alumni award recipient.)

ONU welcomed 14 counselors from throughout the world on Thursday to see the campus facilities and learn about the academic programs so that they can return to their home countries and advise their local students about which U.S. college might be a good fit for them.
The counselors spent the day at ONU before heading to Findlay and BGSU.
They came from the tiny rich island nation of Brunei, populace China, former foe Vietnam, USA friend Jordan and elsewhere.
The list also included Cambodia, Ecuador, Honduras, Kazakhstan, Paupa New Guinea, Peru, Russia, Serbia, and Sri Lanka. It was a mini-UN.
