ONU welcomed 14 counselors from throughout the world on Thursday to see the campus facilities and learn about the academic programs so that they can return to their home countries and advise their local students about which U.S. college might be a good fit for them.
The counselors spent the day at ONU before heading to Findlay and BGSU.
They came from the tiny rich island nation of Brunei, populace China, former foe Vietnam, USA friend Jordan and elsewhere.
The list also included Cambodia, Ecuador, Honduras, Kazakhstan, Paupa New Guinea, Peru, Russia, Serbia, and Sri Lanka. It was a mini-UN.
The advisors include 12 EducationUSA advisers and two overseas high school guidance counselors.
The visit is part of the EducationUSA tour, which is intended to highlight opportunities in the STEAM academic areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics + Arts). EducationUSA is a U.S. State Department program that promotes U.S. colleges and universities in other countries.
