The Spirit of Christmas has a little bit of Ada as seen here.
Here's two Facebook videos from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office. Watch the deputies deliver foot baskets donated by the Ada High School Future Farmers of America.
My memories of the best Christmas ever come in a package wrapped from stores located in the Lima public square.
I know. It's sounds impossible to viewers born after Neil A. walked on the moon; but it's true.
There was nothing...nothing like going to Lima and shopping downtown for Christmas.
Picture this: Somewhere on South Main, Lima, there was Porter's Music Store. You could actually select a 33 1/3 rpm album, enter a listening booth and listen to the album in privacy. That way you'd know if you wanted to buy it or pass.
The Icon offers this Christmas story, repeated from last Christmas.
In the eighth year in the reign of Obama, legislation passed that all U.S. citizens be counted in the county where their ancestors had settled. This unusual census was when Kasich was governor of Ohio and Latta was fifth district representative.
Jose from Lebanon, Ohio, with his young housekeeper, Maria, who was nine-month’s pregnant with someone else’s child, and who Jose had intended to marry, drove to Ada in Jose’s 1996 Mercury Cougar. This was because Jose was a great-great-great-grandson of one of the original immigrants in Liberty Township.

Santa has visited Ada many times in the past month as these Ada Icon photos attest. To see more of where he has been in Ada check out the photos at the bottom of this story.
Santa sometimes appears a little stocky, sometimes thinner, sometimes short or tall. One time he was caught by the camera with glasses.
But, he's always jolly, loves kids, and wears the read and white suit he's known for. Some days, Santa's beard is thick and full. Other tines the beard is little scraggly, but that's when Mrs. Claus didn't give her approval before he left the workshop.

Teachers were happy that the temperature finally moderated so that youngsters could enjoy ball and jump rope during recess at lunch on Wednesday, the last day of school until break. These kindergarteners and first graders tore about the play area, burning off some energy before heading back inside for class. (Monty Siekerman photos)

The wonder in a child's eyes.
Santa showed up at preschool at the Ada Schools on Wednesday, giving several books and stickers to all of the children, thanks to the generosity of the Kiwanis club. Kiwanians supplied 27 children in both of the preschool classes with reading materials and fun things to do. (Monty Siekerman)
