This Ada secret garden is really in plain sight

A secret garden is in plain sight of many passersby along Ada's North Main Street.

The well-tended and designed garden features mostly herbs.

Owned by the Tom Elsasser family for 35 years, the home and garden is located across from the Methodist Church and next to the library.

It's a pleasant view for the many drivers and walkers who pass by throughout the day. Next time you are in the area, slow down, glance over and enjoy the scene.

It's "Toy Story" under the stars Friday night

You can watch a free outdoor movie in Ada on Friday night.

That's right. And, Woody and Buzz Lightyear will be there.

The movie, Toy Story, will be shown on a 40-foot screen on the Ohio Northern University tundra. This is the second of three free outdoor summer movies sponsored by The Freed Center for the Performing Arts and Bluffton Hospital.

The movie starts at dusk. ReStore will sell pop, popcorn and candy during the movie. Families are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the movie under the stars.

This is the first full length animated film, and it was a blockbuster produced by Pixar and distributed by Disney in 1995.

Hardin farmers' concerns: Late wheat harvest grain quality

From the Hardin County Extension Office - Because of the continued rains in the area, wheat harvest will likely be late again this year.

Throughout the state, the crop is now ready for harvest in some fields, but will likely not be cut until the first or second week of July or even later, depending on weather and field conditions.  A late harvest combined with excessive rainfall will mean more time for late-season mold growth, mycotoxin accumulation, test weight reduction, and sprouting, all of which together could result in poor overall grain quality.
