Lynn Goes Cole was a social worker and caterer

Lynn Goes Cole of Ada, Ohio, passed away on December 20, 2024.

Lynn was born May 21, 1953, to Robert Louis Goes and Patricia Goes VanDemark in Morristown, New Jersey. Lynn was preceded in death by her husband William Cole, who passed away in 2021. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her brother Robert Goes who passed away earlier this year.  She is survived by sisters Jane DeVall and Wendy Moore.

After Lynn graduated from Madison High School in 1971, she went on to study Sociology at Ohio Northern University.  Upon graduation, her first job was as a social worker for Allen County Children’s Services, something she was truly well suited. 

Cathy Ann Hobensack worked for Proctor & Gamble

Cathy Ann Hobensack, age 73, of Harrod, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. 

She was born on June 21, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late James and Helen (Greiser) Marshall. On May 21, 1976 Cathy married Anthony “Tony” Hobensack and he survives in Harrod.  

Cathy is also survived by her three children: Joe Hobensack of Bluffton, Jeffrey C. (Nikki) Hobensack of Columbus and Lindsey (Mike) Capps of Lima; six grandchildren: Olivia, Avery, Marshall, Wyatt, Jackson and Calvin; a brother, Steve (Jan) Marshall; and sister and best friend, Judy (Kevin) Roberson. 

Bobby Lee Bingham worked for Metal Coating

Bobby Lee Bingham, age 71, of Findlay, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Blanchard Valley Health System.   

He was born on November 14, 1953 in Wartburg, Tennessee to the late Benjamin and Barbara (Freytag) Bingham. Bobby married Kimberly Freytag on August 8, 1976 and she survives in Findlay.         

Also surviving is his daughter, Tracy (Alonzo) Wilson of Fostoria; seven grandchildren: Kayla, Abigail, Andrew, Morgan, Brooklyn, Koultan and Trenton; three great grandchildren: Kimberly, Jason and Maddix; and two sisters: Betty (Wayne Johnson) Goad and Mary Lewis. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Bingham; and grandson, Trevor. 

Obituary for Lyla Jo Howells

Lyla Jo Howells, age 6 months, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at home. 

She was born on May 28, 2024 in Springfield, Ohio to Willit L. Hardin and Amelia Howells, they survive in Alger.  

Also surviving is her sister, Evelynn Hardin; paternal grandparents: Barry and Teresa Hardin; maternal grandparents: Trenton and Tina Howells; great grandfather, Max Winters; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Private family services will be held.

Obituary for Kirby Marinette-Lyndlee Hamlin

Kirby Marinette-Lyndlee Hamlin, 7 months, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024.

Kirby was born on April 24, 2024 in Lima, Ohio to her parents Michael and Oksana (Shaw) Hamlin.

She is survived by her parents; three brothers: Dylan, Dante and Meyrick; paternal grandmother, Brenda Hamlin; maternal grandparents: Lynda and Edward Pitt; great grandparents: Rosie Mortensen, Jess Lightner, and Carolyn and Bill Shaw; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Kirby was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Rick Hamlin; and maternal grandfather, Blake Shaw. 

Private family services will be held. 

Melvin Dale Dawson served in the U.S. Army

Melvin Dale Dawson, age 94, of Bluffton, passed away at Willow Ridge, Freda House, Bluffton on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, surrounded by his family. 

He was born on September 16, 1930 in Allen County, Ohio to the late J. Fred and Georgia L. (Cowan) Dawson. Melvin married Dorothy Anspach and she preceded him in death on March 26, 1994. He later married Marjorie A. Winegardner on September 1, 1995 and she survives in Bluffton.
