Bulldog girls basketball loss  at Arcadia

ARCADIA - The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team lost to Blanchard Valley Conference foe Arcadia 52-30 on January 2.

The road defeat dropped the Bulldog record to 1-9 overall and 0-5 in the BVC. Arcadia improved to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in BVC play after the victory.

The Bulldogs trailed 14-4 after the first period. Arcadia won the second quarter 10-4 to extend their margin to 24-8 at halftime.  

An 18-9 Redskin third period stretched the lead to 42-17. Ada won the fourth stanza 13-10 to cut the final margin to 22.  

Junior post Anna Conley led the Bulldog girls with 16 points on eight baskets. Conley netted eight of her points in the fourth period.

Ada senior guard Lexi Poling tallied five markers, and freshman Emily Gibson netted four. Ashley Hevlin added three points on a triple.

The Redskins were led by Addy Colman with 18 points. She tallied 13 of her points in the first half with the aid of three triples. Liberty Voges netted 10 markers, and Ryleigh Bostic added nine.

The Bulldog girls connected on 12 two-point field goals and splashed a pair of triples. Ada did not attempt a single foul shot.

The Redskins canned six two-point goals and drained eight trifectas. Arcadia made 16 of 27 free throws (59 percent).

Ada hosts non-league rival Waynesfield-Goshen (6-4) Saturday, January 4 at noon. The Tigers are led by senior six-footers Tatelyn Faraglia and Raegan Hutchison under new head coach Brent Farley.
