ONU celebrates Homecoming 2024 on Sept. 27-28

Ohio Northern University will celebrate its Homecoming & Reunion Weekend on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28.

Jam-packed with fun events for alumni, including campus and college tours, “classes without quizzes,” reunion gatherings, tailgating and much more, the weekend also includes many events open to the general public, including a parade, concerts and sporting events.

The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday on Main Street in Ada. Jennifer (Smith) O’Brian, BSME ’12 and Lydia (Weaver) Bailey, PharmD ’15, will serve as grand marshals. O’Brian and Bailey are the 2024 recipients of ONU’s William L. Robinson Young Alumni Award in recognition for their passion and loyalty toward their profession, community, and alma mater.

Other Homecoming Weekend events for the public to enjoy will include:

University Singers Homecoming Concert. The free concert will be held in Presser Hall’s Snyder Recital Hall on Friday at 8 p.m.

ONU HealthWise Mobile Clinic tours. On Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. near the Activities Tent in King-Horn Sports Center’s parking lot, visitors can hear more about the impact ONU is making on the larger community, particularly the rural underserved community.

The Art + Design Faculty Show in the Elzay Gallery of Art on Friday from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. is an exhibition of the recent work of ONU art and design faculty: Luke Sheets, BFA ’95; Emily Jay, BFA ’10; Melissa Eddings Mancuso; and Brit Rowe, BFA ’93.

ONU vs. Wilmington football game. The game will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Dial-Roberson Stadium. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.

Inlet Dance Theatre and the ONU Dance Company. The Ohio-based dance company joins ONU dancers on stage after a two-week residency. The performances will be held at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Visit freedcenter.com for ticket info.
