The Ada Public Library, 320 N. Main, will kickoff its 2024 Summer Reading program on Saturday, June 1 with a party from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. where you'll find that “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”
There will be snow-cones, 4-H animals, the Steelions steel drum band, costumed characters, Touch-A-Truck, the Friends of the Ada Public Library Book Sale and more. WKTN will broadcast live from the library that day.
Summer Reading will run from Saturday, June 1 to Saturday, July 13. Participants may sign up on June 1 or any day after that.
This year the library will be using ReadSquared, so if you can’t attend in person on June 1, sign up at www.AdaLibrary.ReadSquared.com/ Visit the library if you need a hand signing up.

There will also be a Kids Snap Photography Club. The last week of July, photographs will be displayed and awarded prizes.

Weis not only hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2021, he also hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail and the Arizona Trail, all in 2021 for a total of over 8000 miles in one year. This is a challenge in the hiking world known as the Calendar Year Triple Crown.
Readers of all ages are encouraged to sign up for the Summer Read program and compete for prizes.
