Letter: Dig for a Cure raises $2,370

A letter from coach Kyleigh Woodruff and the Ada High School volleyball team:

Ada’s volleyball team held our annual Dig for a Cure event on Monday, October 2nd to battle against cancer and raise money for The Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) Network Foundation. This year Ada and Upper Scioto Valley schools worked together to raise a grand total of $2,370.12.  A breakdown of our total amount raised includes: $951 on raffle baskets, $631.50 at our bake sale, $89 on our serving game, $414.62 donations during “Storm the Fans”, and $284 on t-shirt sales.  This grand total would not have been possible without the generous donations that we received from not only both teams and staff but also our community.

We would like to give special thanks to many businesses in and surrounding our community for their generous donations.  A huge thank you to Marathon, Four Seasons Drive Thru, Buckeye East, El Campo, Viva Maria, Gibson Construction, On Hand Healing, Forney Sales and Service, Schilling Propane and Padrone's for your monetary donations, gift cards, or raffle basket items, we greatly appreciate it.  We would also like to give a special thanks to Taco Bell for donating a treat for both teams to enjoy after the game for all of their hard work.

The teams really enjoyed the pleasant surprise and your kindness.  Apollo’s Culinary Center deserves a shout out as well for donating a generous amount of delicious baked goods year after year to our cause.  Thank you to Ada’s Athletic, Academic and Music Boosters for all donating raffle baskets.

Along with business donations we also had many donations from volleyball families and Ada’s teaching staff. We are extremely thankful to be able to organize and participate in such a great event that brings our community and Ada family together to raise money for such an important cause.  One hundred percent of the donations raised goes directly towards cancer research.

Thank You,

Coach Woodruff and Ada’s Volleyball Team
