Jolliff, Brown score 2nd place event finishes, King takes a 3rd

The Ada High School track and field teams competed at and hosted the 15-team Div. III district meet Thursday and Saturday, May 18 and 20, at War Memorial Stadium.
Columbus Grove captured the boys team title, while Riverdale captured the girls team title.
The Bulldog boys finished a solid seventh out of 14 teams, while the Bulldog girls came in ninth out of 15 squads.
Bulldog sophomore speedster Logan Jolliff finished a strong second in the 100-meter dash.
Ada junior Jackson Brown finished second in the boys 110-meter high hurdles.
Junior Mariah King crossed the line third in the 300 hurdles.
Jolliff, Brown and King qualified for the regional meet next week.
The Ada boys 4x800 relay quartet of Mason Selover, Chase Caldwell, Dakota Gossman and Ethan D'Souza finished fourth to also make it to regionals.
Ada sophomore Ethan D’Souza took fifth in the 3,200-meter run. Selover also came in fifth in the 800-meter run.
Promising freshman Lydia Demascio crossed the finish line sixth in the girls 400 meters.
Ada senior Courtney Sumner ended up sixth in the long jump.
Talented freshman Jordyn Smith finished seventh in the 400. Sophomore Kennedy Jones came in seventh in the girls shot put.
Tucker Hazelton also finished seventh in the pole vault.
