Women win in overtime
Senior guard Jenna Dirksen (Beavercreek/Carroll) provided the Ohio Northern women's basketball team with a late, go-ahead layup with moments remaining in overtime, lifting the Polar Bears to a 66-64 victory over Ohio Wesleyan Saturday at ONU Sports Center.
Ohio Northern improves to 4-0 overall on the season while the Battling Bishops fall to 2-2.
Dirksen would lead all scorers in the contest with a career-high 22 points on 44% shooting from the floor, including a three-for-seven clip from beyond the three-point arc. The senior would also chip in two rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Senior Tori Wyss (Ada) impressed fans in attendance, hauling in a career-high 17 boards in the contest.
