A member of Ada Boy Scout Troop 124 has become an Eagle Scout. Jacob Butterfield of Harrod is one of only four percent of Scouts who attain the highest level in Scouting.
The community project of the 16-year-old homeschooler involved refinishing the anchor of the USS Texas in Veterans Park and landscaping Railroad Park in Harrod. Butterfield worked with 13 volunteers who put in 169 man-hours on the projects.
Jeff Kurtz is Scoutmaster of Troop 124. Tom Lehman is Assistant Scoutmaster and served as project manager.
The Eagle Scout began his journey in Scouting as a Tiger Scout with Pack 124 at the age of 7. He is the son of Randy and Angie Butterfield of Harrod.
