Military appeals court hears case at ONU; first-time ever held in Ohio
By Monty Siekerman
Robert Dubois (left) meets with Charles Erdmann at the law school on Wednesday prior to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces hearing a case.
Dubois, a third year law student from Cleveland, is Chief Justice of the ONU Moot Court. Erdmann is Chief Judge for the appeals court.
The military appeals court rarely hears cases outside of Washington, D.C. This was the first time the court considered an appeal case in Ohio.
The court exercises worldwide appellate jurisdiction over members of the armed forces on active duty and other persons subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The court is composed of five civilian judges appointed for 15-year terms by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate.
