Stop and buy the roses

What do you do with 1,000 roses? You sell them. Carol Slane Florist in Ada is preparing for The Big Day on Saturday, Shannon Brown (left), owner and Tanya Sutton (center) and Sandy Turner hold some of the many flowers they will distribute as arrangements or wrapped as cut flowers for customers. Shannon's mother, Carol Slane, began the business in 1986. Shannon became owner in 1998. Both Tanya and Sandy have been with the flower shop since 1998. In Ada, Valentine's is the biggest flower holiday of the year due to many ONU students residing here in February. Mother's Day is the biggest flower-giving holiday in most towns.
