Ada Kiwanis members hear about United Methodist NOMADS Program
President Heather Cox called the weekly meeting of the Ada Kiwanis Club to order at 12:00 noon on Tuesday November 12th at McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University, Ada.
-The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress. Doris and Harold Cotsamire along with Circle K members and Katie Lorson and Allie Puntel were welcomed as guests
The birthday of Katie Lorson (today) was celebrated is song.
The membership of anniversary (one year) of member David McDonald was also noted.
In business:-Members heard an updated financial report from Treasurer Bryan Marshall.
-Secretary Brian Myers reported that the October report filed on time.
-The satellite club reported that they met last week. They discussed/reviewed the Board and regular minutes from last Tuesday. They will meet tomorrow at 6 PM at Community Health Professionals building.
-The provided food for the Monday November 11th Blood Drive at the Community Health Professionals Building.
-The club’s annual Christmas Party is set for Tuesday December 17th. A committee has been assigned and they will work out the details.
-ONU Circle K reported that they will make up the boxes for Operation Christmas Child this evening.
-Kiwanis Education Minute; The fourth Object of Kiwanis International is: “To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
-Something to Ponder: If a cow laughed really hard, will milk come out of her nose?

Mark Shull introduced Doris and Harold Cotsamire who are 15-year members of the NOMADS Program that has a mission to do service work throughout the country.
Currently, there are approximately 1,200 NOMADS, which is a program affiliated with the Methodist Church. Anyone with an RV is welcome to participate in the programs, which involves the group travelling to various sites to perform service at various sites in North America.
A typical work event involves 24 hours a week for three weeks where each day begins with devotion. Some of the projects include building health clinics, remodeling churches, building cabins, and remodeling homes.
