Parade, pep rally, spirit week, king and queen, dance...sounds like homecoming is approaching
A parade, pep rally, spirit week, king and queen, dance…sounds like Ada High School’s homecoming is approaching. It is and the Ada High School student council sponsors this year’s event.
Homecoming is Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5. Events begin next week during Spirit Week.
Spirit Week
You’ll see some interesting outfits on students. Here’s the Spirit Week dress schedule for junior high and high school students:
Monday – Mad Scientist Monday: Goggles and lab coats, come dressed as a scientist.
Tuesday – Tardy Tuesday: Come dressed as if you just rolled out of bed.
Wednesday – What a Nerd Wednesday: Grab those glasses, suspenders and pocket protectors – nerd it up.
Thursday – Throwback Thursday: Dress like you would have in elementary school.
Friday – Bulldog Spirit Day: Dress with total school spirit and cheer on your Bulldogs.
Pep rally
The homecoming pep rally takes place on Monday at 3 p.m.
Parade
The community is invited to participate in the parade. Any local business or organization interested should contact Chanda Smith or Lyn Davis at 419-634-2746 by Friday, Sept. 27.
The parade will form in the south parking lot of the school at 6 p.m. The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. The parade route is Highland to Main, downtown to College and onto Park, and to the stadium.
Parade planners are hoping for a larger than usual parade this year since the parade was cancelled last year due to heavy rain.
The king and queen will be announced in a pre-game ceremony at the field at 7 p.m. Ada plays Paulding in football at 7:30 p.m.
Homecoming court
Students have voted for their class representatives to be on the homecoming court. Photos of the court take place on Tuesday morning, Oct. 1.
Saturday dance
This year’s homecoming theme “We’ve Got Class,” is the Saturday dance theme. The dance takes place from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Ada cafeteria. Tickets are on sale at $8 for a single and $15 for a couple.
