Bulldog swimmer will make 4th trip to state

BOWLING GREEN – Eight Ada High School swimmers competed at the Div. II district meet at Bowling Green State University on February 14, with one qualifying again for state.
Ada senior Lily Baumgartner won one individual district championship, and finished second in another race.
Baumgartner touched first in the 100-yard backstroke by a large margin of 1.8 seconds to automatically advance to the state meet in Canton for the fourth consecutive year.
She also finished a strong second in the 100-yard butterfly race.
The Ada girls freestyle relay team finished 19th of 24 foursomes at the district meet, and the Bulldog girls 200 medley relay quartet also came in 19th.
Bulldog junior Lydia Demascio ended up 24th in the 100 backstroke.
Ada sophomore Tim Chrissobolis touched 14th in the 100 breaststroke. He also finished 18th in the 100 butterfly.
Sophomore Jacob Szippl ended up 21st in the 100 backstroke.
The Div. II state meet is Thursday and Friday evenings, Feb. 20-21 at Canton’s CT Branin Natatorium. Preliminary heats are Thursday from 5-9 p.m., with the Div. II finals Friday from 5-9 p.m.
