BELLEFONTAINE - The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team decisively defeated non-conference foe Calvary Christian 51-17 on February 4.
Balanced Ada placed a season-best four players in double figures.
The Bulldogs raced to a 14-2 lead after the first period as Anna Conley tallied seven points. The purple and gold extended the margin to 26-10 at halftime as five players scored in a 12-8 second stanza.
A 15-2 Ada third quarter put the game well out of reach at 41-12. Bulldog Brooklyn Andreasen tallied six markers in the third period.
The Bulldogs won the final period 10-5 behind three Ashley Hevlin baskets to finish the 34-point victory.
The Ada girls improved to 4-16 overall after recording their second straight road win. Calvary Christian fell to 2-15 after the defeat.
“We did a really good job of sharing the ball and getting easy opportunities in transition,” said Ada head coach Zach Ricker.
Ada junior Hevlin and sophomore Andreasen tallied career-high totals of 12 points apiece to pace the victors. Both sank six field goals on the night.
Bulldog junior post Conley contributed 11 markers to the balanced Ada attack. Senior guard Lexi Poling netted 10 points.
Ada sank 21 deuces and buried two triples. The Bulldogs converted three of their four foul shots (75 percent).
CC canned seven two-pointers and drained no treys. The Spartans converted three of six free throws (50 percent).

The Bulldog girls (0-9 BVC) host Pandora-Gilboa (11-10, 6-3 BVC) Thursday, Feb. 6 in the finale of their first Blanchard Valley Conference season.
The regular season and home finale is Saturday, Feb. 8 vs. North Baltimore (12-7). Tiger freshman standout guard Lacie Allison averages 24 ppg.
The girls varsity game will be preceded by the Ada boys JV contest at 4 p.m., and then the varsity boys game vs. NB.
