The 2022 Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival looked good, sounded good, smelled good and tasted good. The Tailgate Party coordinated by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce at Depot Park was a dramatic contrast to the surrounding quiet streets of Ada on Saturday evening, August 27.
Entertainment included two live bands--Voodoo Lane and the Shifferly Road Band--and presentations celebrating local football teams. Children enjoyed dancing and playing a variety of games. Folks lined up to try the foods provided by a fleet of mobile vendors--everything from a classic boat of french fries to lobster sandwiches and Belgian waffles on a stick.
The weather was dry as a bone--a precious commodity for event planners in recent days.
Chamber director Lindsay Walden was pleased with the results of many months of planning and promoting the event. She credited the addition of more food trucks and tweaking their location with the success of the event as well as "promoting the heck out of it."
In addition expressing her graditude to the sponsors, volunteers, and committee members, Walden has special thanks for the Ada Police Department, which provided an officer for the entire evening to help maintain a very safe and fun event.
Stay tuned for Icon coverage of the PPK sanctioned Punt, Pass and Kick competition that took place earlier in the day, attracting participants from Cleveland, Columbus and Ft. Wayne.
