Connie Lehman was a private music teacher in Ada
Connie S. Lehman, age 60, died at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio.
She was born on November 22, 1952, in Kenton, Ohio, to Carl D. and F. Jeanne (Vermillion) Hepner, who preceded her in death. Her step-mother, Carol Hepner survives in Ada. On June 14, 1975, she married Thomas F. Lehman and he survives in Ada, Ohio.
Connie was a private music teacher and was also a substitute school teacher for Ada Schools. She was a 1971 graduate of Ada High School and a 1975 graduate of ONU with a degree in music education. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Ada, where she was the organist, the music leader for Vacation Bible School, and taught Sunday School for many years.
Connie was a La Leche League leader for several years and was a member of several Bible studies in Ada. She was a former Cub Scout leader for Pack 124 and a Venture Crew leader for Crew 124. She completed the Philmont Trek in New Mexico in 2006. Connie spoke at several cancer events and was a life mentor for several people.
Also surviving are two sons: Thomas F. (Michelle) Lehman, II of Lakewood, and Rev. Jacob (Melissa) Lehman of Kalamazoo, MI; three daughters: Susanna (Zach) Mayo of Columbus, Elizabeth (Russell) Hanson of Altoona, WI, and Leah Lehman of Ada; and three grandchildren: Brianna, Clarice, and George Lehman.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Cheri Warren on October 18, 2012.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Ada, Ohio with Pastor David Coffin and Pastor Jack Duffy officiating. Burial will be in Candler Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call 6 - 8 p.m. on Monday, June 3, and from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, Ada, and/or Camp Luther in North Kingsville, Ohio, and/or the American Cancer Society.
