The Ada swim teams competed well Saturday at the Div. II northwest sectional meet in the Lima YMCA.
Bulldog freshman Lily Baumgartner set a Lima sectional meet record by winning the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.50. She broke the old record of 59.58 set by Elizabeth Rudolph.
Baumgartner also won the 100 backstroke race to make it to the Bowling Green district in two individual events.
Ada junior Carlie Oldfield won the 50 freestyle and finished second in the 100 back to return to the district meet.
Junior Kaitlyn Bowden finished seventh in the 100 butterfly race.
Baumgartner, Oldfield and Bowden also swam for both Ada relay quartets (200 medley, 200 freestyle) that finished third.
Bulldog sophomore Jack Baumgartner touched fourth in the 500 freestyle to post the top Ada male showing.
A top four sectional finish typically qualifies a swimmer or relay team to districts.
