The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team defeated Calvary Christian 40-29 in a non-conference contest Tuesday night, February 1.
The Ada girls improved to 6-13 with the victory. CC remained winless with the defeat.
"A win is a win and we will take it," said fourth-year Lady Bulldog head coach Morgan Bass.
The Bulldog girls led 15-8 after the first period behind guard Courtney Sumner's seven points.
Ada stayed ahead of the Lady Spartans 21-15 at halftime as playmaker Olivia Burkhart tallied four second-quarter points. The Bulldogs advanced the lead to 29-19 heading to the final stanza.
Burkhart tallied five fourth-period points as the Bulldogs won the last quarter, 11-10.
Bulldog junior Sumner led all players with 15 points. Burkhart contributed 11 points.
Hannah Marlow led CC with 13 markers.
The Lady Bulldogs canned 18 field goals, sinking 17 two-pointers and one trey. Ada converted three of five from the charity stripe (60 percent).
The CC girls connected on 11 field goals, hitting 10 two-pointers and making one triple. The Spartan girls canned six of 13 free throws (46 percent).

Ada is slated to play a makeup game at local arch-rival USV (0-18) Saturday, Feb. 5 at noon, weather permitting.
The Bulldogs hammered the Lady Rams 51-18 Dec. 28 at the Border Battle in Harrod.
"I'm sure they will come ready to play, so we better too," warned Bass.
