The Ada girls basketball team fell behind early and lost 69-39 at unbeaten Lincolnview in the Northwest Conference opener Thursday night, December 2.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the NWC with the loss. The Lancers improved to 4-0 and 1-0 with the victory.
Ada trailed 24-8 after the first period and 41-21 at halftime. Lincolnview led 59-32 after three periods and won the closer second half, 28-18.
Lincolnview canned four of its 10 three-point goals in the first quarter, and was never threatened.
"Lincolnview shot extremely well," said Bulldog head coach Morgan Bass. "Despite the score, we did do some good things.
"They killed us on transition in the first half," she added.
Ada junior guard Courtney Sumner led all scorers with 23 points. Eighteen of her points came over the middle quarters. Teammates Olivia Burkhart and Mariah King each added six points.
Makayla Jackman sank five triples en route to a team-high 19 points for the Lancers. Kendall Bollenbacher contributed 12 of her 15 markers in the opening stanza. Zadia King added 13 points.
The Bulldogs canned 17 field goals, including 13 deuces and four trifectas. Ada converted one of six attempts from the charity stripe (17 percent).
The Lady Lancers made 29 field goals, including 19 two-pointers and a whopping 10 triples. They converted just one of four free throws (25 percent).

Ada (0-1 home) hosts Perry (0-2) Saturday at noon. The Bulldogs then entertain Riverdale (1-4) Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
"We will try to learn from Lincolnview and move on to prepare for Perry," said Bass.
