To honor the memory of David Agin in his hometown, the family publicly invites friends and loved ones to a visitation and memorial service on Saturday, November 13th, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church (201 S Main St, Ada, OH 45810). We understand travel will not be possible for all but hope we can see many of you there. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 12:30-2:00pm followed by a Memorial service at the church at 2:00pm. There will be a private graveside service for family only at Hasson Cemetery in Jenera.
David Andrew Agin, age 65, died on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 6:18 am at Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA. He was born on October 4, 1956 in Ada, Ohio. He was preceded in death at an early age by his biological father, Andrew "Andy" Gordon Parr; and more recently by his adoptive father, Loyd Walter Agin.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Beatrice “Bea” Agin; his three daughters, Katie (Don) Agin-Alexander (34), Ashley Caroline Agin (32) (mother Lynn Austin), and Cloe Ikraam Agin (6) (mother Naima Zerrouki).
David was the most loving father to his three girls. Whether coaching or attending the girls’ basketball and volleyball matches, he was the one everyone looked forward to seeing. He was a friend to all, loved deeply, and made a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a kindred spirit, always ready to make you laugh, give you a big hug, or help you touch the sky.
David graduated from Ada High School in 1975 where he excelled in basketball earning him a scholarship to Lorain Community College and later Georgia State University. Following Georgia State, David entered the European basketball association and played two seasons in Argentina. Upon returning from Argentina, David worked in the residential remodeling business and established HangerOne and later Makeover Marvels. He was the ultimate handy man and no job was too complex. He always said where there is a will there is a way.
David is preceded in death by oldest sister, Dee (Tim) Davis, and is survived by four siblings, Tim (Rachel) Agin, Barb (Jim) Ulrey, Mike (Deb) Agin and Rob (Sherry) Agin; nieces and nephews, Sarah (B.J. Eaton) Davis, Jason (Erika) Agin, Morgan Agin, Nathan (Emily) Ulrey, Ryan (Katie) Ulrey, Neisha (Brandon) Hermiller, Mikey Agin, Rosanne (Pete) Hughes, A.J. (Trisha Heidtke) Agin, Jasmine Agin, Nick Agin and Jacob (Ashley Breidenbach) Agin; great-nieces and nephews, Abigail Agin, Brent Hughes, Alec Hughes, Blakely Hughes, Jax Agin, Claire Agin, Ben Agin, Hudson Travis, Avery Ulrey, Ainsley Ulrey, Arden Ulrey, Laenen Ulrey, Rhett Ulrey, Maeve Ulrey, Harrison Hermiller, and Hadley Hermiller; aunts and uncles, Bobbie (Lee) Hansel, and preceded in death by Jim Griffith.
