He was baptized in the Cam Lo River in Vietnam before being sent to retrieve fallen Marines after a particularly hard-fought battle on a hill in Cam Lo. Randy worked as a machinist at Westinghouse Aerospace for 22 years until it closed and he retired from Honda Engineering of Anna, Ohio in 2010, after 17 years.

Randy endured the ravages of Agent Orange with grace and humor for thirty years, having contracted Parkinson's Disease and a chronic lung disease. And the bible says, “he who endures shall be saved.” He was selfless and loving to all of his family and was a favored Uncle, even if not related. He lived a quiet Christian life through his example and action. His impact on his family and extended family will remain forever. He covered his family in love to the moment he breathed his last breath.
