Ada at HN Fri.
Ada plays its third straight road game to start the campaign when they resume a long-standing series with county rival Hardin Northern (2-0) Friday, Sept. 3.
HN is tied with Arlington for sixth place in the Div. VII, Region 26 computer standings. Ada is tied for 19th place.
Northern beat Arcadia 29-21 in their opener, then outscored Riverdale 49-36 in a week two shootout.
Ada and the Polar Bears played in the season opener for over two decades before the series, which had become very one-sided in favor of the Bulldogs, was halted nine years ago.
The Bulldogs crushed HN 55-0 in the 2012 opener, their last meeting. Ada also won easily by a 53-7 count in 2011.
Other memorable Bulldog wins in the series were a 39-36 shootout in 1996, and a 13-10 victory in the 2000 opener. HN beat Ada 20-6 in 2004 en route to a 14-1 season and the Div. VI state title.
Northern beat the Bulldogs 67-38 in the 2006 opener to spoil new coach Mike Fell's Ada debut. In a much-closer playoff rematch a few months later, the Bears eliminated the Bulldogs 21-14 in the first round at Dola.
HN then defeated the Bulldogs at Dola in the 2007 lidlifter 35-20, their eighth win in a row over Ada and last in the series.
The Bulldogs then turned the tables and romped over their Hardin County rival, capturing the next five meetings by a combined score of 254-21 (an average of 50.8 ppg to 4.2 ppg).
